is it Monday again?

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 9:55 am by flerly.

i’ve got a case of the Wednesdays… or something. Feels too much like a Monday and it’s creeping me out.

No, we don’t get Good Friday off, but why should we.

I have the urge to recap my weekend, when I’ve already DONE that. Jennie was visiting, of course, we tried to play mini-golf Monday night, it was closing in 5 minutes, so we watched some freak play DDRExtreme on a freaking hard song and get AAA score everytime, then left for Baileys & pool. Jennie didn’t believe I was 31. Tuesday.. new doctor, very nice, didn’t believe I was 31 either. These were unprompted comments. As I recall JT made an unprompted comment, too, but I forgive him.

Doctor took forever, then didn’t have my shot in stock. Have to call them to see if UPS runs today and then stop by. Before 5pm. Way the hell over by the house, with me in Kennesaw. Yeah, not gonna happen. I’ll be damned if I can leave work early today without some projectile vomiting going on.

At least I don’t feel like total crap like yesterday. Headachey & blah, which turned into nauseous, probably due to the hanging upside down in the gravity boots for a minute. Just wanted to try them out. Then, of course, FischerSpooner was at eleven50 last night. Didn’t know what to expect… JamesT had heard some of the stuff, but it was being billed as “performance art”. Turns out, they butchered entertainment proudly by getting into costumes and dancing about lipsyncing to their own songs. They sucked, on purpose. They were actually very interesting to watch. Funny. FS kept telling them to “not fuck up this song” and they would count into the microphone to coordinate their dance steps. If they screwed it up, or if the crowd didn’t seem into it, they’d stop the cd then start over again. They were entertaining, but the 2 1/2 hours or so before them were way less entertaining and on the downhill slope to downright annoying. I could have sworn I saw in the crowd, but later when we got closer to the guy, I realized he was just his very slightly taller twin.

Anyway.. JamesT got his preordered Family Guy dvd yesterday, so we’ve already watched the hell out of it. The one with commentary we watched wasn’t all that funny. That show kills me, though… the places they pull their gags from, it’s insane.

What else… let’s see. Greg is harassing us to go to Fantasm Con, thurs-sat of this week. Um.. don’t think so. NOT in the mood, thanks. Although, it was sort of fun helping him fill out his pre-reg badge, where they give you like five lines to list your name, affiliations, and sexual preferences or something. I’ve never gone. He’s never been either. He decided he didn’t want to limit his options by putting something concrete in the sexual preferences area, so I suggested “anything but hamsters” and he liked it. Yeah, I’m so not going to that.

I’ve got too much work due by Friday to take that day off anyway, JamesT couldn’t go especially since he’s back on 12-hour shifts for this weekend, and well, we already have Pearl Jam tickets for Saturday. And I still have a dress to pick up. And shoes to find. and a million and one other things I’d like to use the weekend for.

People wont leave me alone. Now I have to be on a conference call in 10 minutes. I want an office with a door and without walk-up access. Cubicles blow goats.

Damn, people. Leave me alone today.

I was blown away how much this guy looked like you. Seriously, do you have a twin?

I hardly ever go to eleven50 on a weekend. I’m not even sure I’m cool enough to go to eleven50 during the week, so I fear the weekend crowd. Here I’ll admit I never heard of Theivery Corporation, too.

Um.. yes, Fantasm is in Atlanta. I think their website is fantasm.org. Or.. ask Kit, I think she and Par are going. They mentioned it.

Oh and… “blow goats” has been my expression since I found the cutest little animated goat-porn icon years ago. Didn’t think about you being the goat, and thus, possibly drawing the wrong connotation from that expression. Perhaps I should revise the expression just for you… to something like “Cublicles crush goat gnads in a grinder and are thusly unpleasant to the extreme”.

btw… i really like eleven50. i just WISH i was cool enough to feel like i fit in. Damn there are always some beautiful people there.
